KitchenMate is committed to providing safe food to customers with a variety of food allergies, intolerances, and other dietary restrictions.

For hot meals (packaged in aluminum pods), KitchenMate has partnered with a central kitchen that is not an allergen-free facility, but the production staff are trained to prepare food in a safe and thoughtful manner. Precautions are in place to minimize cross contamination so that only the ingredients which are supposed to be in a meal make their way in. These include the segregation of priority allergens in the facility, use of standardized recipes and ingredients, and proper sanitization processes.

Priority allergens in Canada include:

  • Shellfish (Crustaceans and Molluscs)

  • Egg

  • Fish

  • Milk

  • Mustard

  • Peanut

  • Sesame

  • Soy

  • Tree Nuts

  • Wheat and Triticale

  • Sulphites

Note that peanuts are not used in KitchenMate's production facility however ingredients that are brought into the facility may have been processed in a facility that uses peanuts.

All priority allergens and common intolerances are specified on the label of each KitchenMate hot meal label as well as on the KitchenMate app.

I have a serious food allergy, intolerance, or dietary restriction. Can I use KitchenMate?

Many customers with dietary restrictions refer to our ingredient lists and labelling to make decisions around what to eat. However, after considering the information above, and depending on the severity and nature of your food allergy, intolerance, or dietary restriction, it may not be advisable to use KitchenMate and consume our meals.

** Note that the above information applies ONLY to KitchenMate's hot meals (packaged in aluminum pods). Grab n' Go items (sandwiches, salads, snacks, and drinks) are produced by external vendors and may be subject to different procedures around food allergens and intolerances. We display the product information (ingredients, allergens, and nutrition information) provided to us by the manufacturers of these Grab n' Go items, but are not responsible for its accuracy.

Please contact us if you have questions about these items. We will do our best to provide you with accurate information.
